Alex was laughing loudly as he flew as fast as he could across Neverland. His laughter sounded like small bells ringing and all the fairies knew that if they could hear it he wasn't far away. There were no fairies around to hear it now as Alex had successfully got away from pixie hollow and the work he was supposed to do. The other story telling fairies were all preparing for a fancy event but Alex didn't need to practice. Unlike the others, he could make people believe what he said was true. It was for that reason he felt he could do what he wanted as whatever story he told it would be the best one.
Alex came to a stop and rested on a low branch. He had made his way to Mermaid Lagoon but he couldn't see any mermaids about. Maybe they were all to busy under water to come up and play with a fairy. He smiled and swung his legs over the branch. "What shall I do now?" He said out loud to himself. It was always more fun if there were two people. None of the other story tellers would ever leave Pixie Hollow without finishing there work so he was left to fly off on his own. "I hope something interesting happens soon." Alex lay back on the branch and watched the sunlight filter through the leaves.

Krista flitted through the air easily. She flew through the Summer Glade with ease, wending her way through the lush green trees she turned over on her back and swam through the air dipping her hands into the wind as though running her fingers through water. A few yellow speckled butterflies joined her and she rolled over and frolicked through the trees with them giggling as one of their soft wings tickled her skin. Krista was a Garden talent fairy but so often she felt as though maybe they had made a mistake. She felt much more akin to Fast flying fairies or Animal talent fairies. Granted she couldn’t talk to animals the way they did, but sometimes she wished she could. She pushed her doubts to the back of her mind as she neared Mermaid Lagoon.
A broad smile parted her lips as she saw Alex resting on a low branch. She fluttered up behind him and stood on a branch behind him leaning her body languidly against the trunk of the tree. She listened to him talk to himself and had to clasp a hand over her mouth to keep herself from laughing. At his remark of ‘I hope something interesting happens soon,’ Krista took it upon herself to help him out. She rushed forward and tackled him yelling, “Alex!” in greeting. She pushed him off the branch and into Mermaid Lagoon, then giggled still standing in the place she had pushed him from and placed her hands on her hips triumphantly.

Alex sat up at the sound of his name but before he could even register who had said it he found himself in the water. It was rather pleasant in the water and he didn't rush to get out of it. As he was still little he was smaller than even the tiniest of fish and he followed one around for a few moments. He eventually made his way to the surface and flew back up to the branch.
He smiled when he saw Krista stood with her hands on her hips. She looked extremely pleased with herself and that made Alex laugh. His laughter sounded like little bells ringing and a few nearby birds began singing because of it. "Most people settle for a simple hello Krista." He said with a playful grin as he hovered in the air. He had only met Krista a few times before but he liked the girl. She was good fun to be with and Alex could see the two of them getting on well.
As he looked at Krista he attempted to wring some of the water out of his clothes. He smiled playfully at her as a thought popped into his head. He flew towards her and lifted her into the air. "Aren't you supposed to be working missy?" He asked as he held her over his shoulder. Alex turned and began to fly towards the water. He laughed as he dove in and let Krista go once they were under. He quickly made his way back to land and lay down laughing.

“Yes well, most people would be boring,” Krista responded with a grin, “And I’m not most people.” She laughed as she watched him try to wring the water out of his clothes. It was a nice day. The sunlight streamed through the trees making dappled golden patterns on the ground below, as light seemed to skip across the water. Krista loved days like this.
She could see an expression forming on his face and she raised an eyebrow in question, “What are you doing?” she asked as he picked her up. They were fluttering over the water. Then she smirked at his question, “Aren’t I always supposed to be working?” As he began to toss her over his shoulder however she began to flail her arms in protest, “Hey, wait, what are you doing? Put me down. I have wings you know I can fly,” she demanded. Her demands were quickly granted.
Krista crossed her arms under water and blew a few bubbles out of her mouth before she swam to the surface. Swimming for Krista was not like flying. She was so small any measure of current could push her tiny body this way or that or even worse down under the water. It’s not that she disliked water, but she didn’t like it when she was fairy-size. Krista lifted her head above the water and took a breath. That’s when a frog jumped off its lily pad and the water splashed her in the face. Her wet hair swept into her eyes. Krista grumbled as she brushed the hair out of her face and saw Alex lying at the waters ledge. She glared at him, a playful kind of glare but still a glare nonetheless. Krista shot out of the water, her wings beat together furiously shaking off all the water and she spun around quickly to release most of the water from her clothes. Still quite soggy Krista then flew towards Alex and sat beside him, “That wasn’t funny,” she said but couldn’t help smile at the expression on his face, “Alright it was kind of funny.” Then she added, “But if you tell anyone I am so getting revenge.”

Alex only laughed harder when Krista finally emerged from the water. She was trying to hide the smile on her face and look annoyed but it didn't last long. He watched her as she spun around to get the water out of her clothes. 'Why didn't I think of that?' he thought as she settled down beside him. He shrugged his shoulders slightly; His clothes would soon dry out in the sunlight. It really was a beautiful day and he was glad he hadn't wasted it at work.
"I promise I wont tell anyone...Or maybe i will turn it into one of my stories? I could tell them that a golden fish took a shine to you and swam away with you in his mouth." Alex loved thinking of stories and his imagination ran away with him. "The fish wanted to take you for a wife but you told him no. He got enraged and locked you inside a sea shell so that you could not escape. Luckily for you I was flying around mermaid lagoon and heard the mermaids talking about the little fairy kept by the fish. I swam around until i found the fish and then waited for him to fall asleep before breaking you out and bringing you back home." Alex leant back on his elbows pleased with himself. With a little embellishment it would be perfect to tell the fairy court.
"So what do you think?" he asked as he turned to Krista. His stories were good but he still liked to be told so every now and again. "What shall we do with this lovely day then? That is unless you plan on going back to work like a good little fairy." Alex knew she wouldn't like to go back to work but it was fun to tease her about it.

Krista glowered at him as she twisted her hair around in her hands and a small pool of water dripped from her ebony locks. Then she smirked at him, “A gold fish, huh?” she rested on her elbows as she listened to his story. “What about a red fish, or a blue fish?” she interjected with a giggle trying to annoy or distract him.
However she soon found herself actually listening to the story and enjoying it. Krista always enjoyed hearing Alex’s stories even if she wouldn’t admit it. “Living in a seashell wouldn’t be so bad,” she shrugged wondering what it would be like to live in a seashell. It would probably be lonely the reckoned. Upon this realization she no longer liked the idea of being trapped in a seashell by a fish king. “My knight in shining armor huh?” she smiled at him giving Alex a nudge in the arm, “But how would you know which seashell I was hidden in?” she asked. “In retrospect I would probably be yelling, but then after I got tired of yelling I would just give up, which let’s face it probably wouldn’t take very long so, you know, how would you find me?”
“It was good. Except I think it should be me who saves you rather than the other way around,” she nodded with a smirky grin on her face. Then with a wave of her hand she laughed, “Pssh, work, who needs it?” she said rhetorically. “How about we go join Peter Pan and the Lost Boys on an adventure? Or ooo, ooo we could find Captain Hook and tease his crew, make them think there was a ghost on board?” her eyes became wide as she thought of the idea, “What do you think?” she asked him.

Alex laughed as she questioned him about his story. She seemed to like it and he tried to think of a good way to answer all of her questions. "Well." he began and sat up straight with his legs crossed. His brow furrowed with concentration as he thought everything through. "It has to be a gold fish because they are the smartest of all the fish. The blue fish always forget what they are doing and the red fish are always causing fights." Alex was making the whole thing up but he liked the way it sounded. "It would be easy to find which shell you were in as the fish king always marks ones with fairies in with a purple flower he picks from the bottom of the lagoon."
Alex decided he liked this story and would use it the next time he was asked to perform at a special even. "Of course I am the knight in shining armour!" he laughed and ruffled her hair playfully. "You would get too distracted if you had to save me...besides, the fish king wanted you as his wife, not me!" Alex laughed once again and lay back on the ground. Krista had some good ideas but he only really liked to hang around with Peter Pan if Wendy wasn't their. Alex didn't like the fact that Peter liked Wendy's stories better than his. He always liked to cause mischief with the pirates but he had to be careful since he had made Hook believe his story. Hook wasn't happy with Alex. "How about we stay here for a bit longer? I'm quite comfortable in the sunshine for now."

“Mmm does that mean that all mermaids with blue tails are dumb too and mermaids with red tails are constantly arguing?” Krista replied dryly, and the smiled at him. “He captures a lot of fairies then does he?” she said of the fish king still teasing him, “How would you know which one was me?” she asked, sure she had annoying Alex by now but she enjoyed listening to how he contrived all the details to his stories.
Krista threw her head back in laughter. “Of course you are,” she nodded but grinned nonetheless. She had to admit there was a part of her, a very small part mind you, that thought he might just make a good prince charming. Then she nodded, “Well that’s true,” about her getting distracted. “Yeeaah but put you in a dress and making a few flowers in your hair and stain your lips with strawberries and you wouldn’t look half bad as a girl,” she teased playfully. “Alright,” she settled back lying beside Alex. “We can scope out Pan’s place and see if Wendy is gone…. Or I could get her away from there for you?” she offered knowing Alex didn’t like Wendy. Krista wasn’t too partial to the girl either. I mean, what did Peter really see in her? Wendy wasn’t any better than her. She didn’t have fairy dust and couldn’t fly, well not without Peter’s help. For this same reason Krista was always a little jealous when it came to Tinkerbelle, why could she have all the fun?

Alex laughed when Krista asked about the mermaids. He knew she was trying to tease him but he didn't mind. Alex liked telling his stories and they were always better when someone questioned them. He was about to answer when she asked how he would know which one was her. He creased his forehead as he thought about it. Alex knew he would be able to tell which one was Krista as he would have followed the gold fish just so he could rescue her. He couldn't tell her that so had to some up with a better idea. "He would have posted guards outside of the shell so you couldn't escape. Lucky for me he posted blue fish to guard you and they soon forgot what they were supposed to be doing and left. It was pretty easy for me to rescue you."
Alex looked over at Krista and laughed along with her at the thought of him in a dress. "I don't think I would look that great in a dress. Not as good as you would." He winked at Krista and smiled. It was nice that she had offered to get Wendy out of the way. It wasn't that he disliked the girl but when she wasn't there Peter preferred his stories. He jumped up and stretched his wings a little. "I have an idea!" He said with a boyish grin on his face. "Why don't we make ourselves big and go swimming in the lagoon? We can see if we can find the fish king and make the red fish fight!"
